Youth safety
Plain-language overview of how OFF SZN Hoops works for young athletes, parents, and guardians. This describes product behavior — it is not legal advice.
Under 13 — parental accounts
OFF SZN Hoops is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly let someone under 13 create their own account.
If a child is under 13, a parent or legal guardian should create and manage the account. During signup we check age signals (such as birth year when provided). When that check indicates under 13, registration is blocked for the child and we ask a parent or guardian to complete signup instead.
If we learn that someone under 13 created an account on their own, we delete that account and associated account data. Email privacy@offsznnetwork.com if you believe this happened.
This is our product posture around under-13 accounts (often discussed under COPPA in the U.S.). It is not a certification or a legal compliance seal.
Player claim by guardians
Many athlete pages are built from public recruiting sources before anyone claims them. Athletes, parents, or guardians can claim a profile so they can correct details and manage what is shown after staff review.
How it works in the product:
- Find the player (search or their profile URL), then use Claim profile on that page.
- You must be signed in. The claim form asks whether you are the player or a parent/guardian, plus a short note or proof link so staff can verify the relationship.
- Claims are reviewed by staff — they are not auto-approved.
- For younger athletes, a parent or guardian should file the claim rather than the child creating an account alone.
Start at Search to find a player page, or create a guardian account at Register.
Public data vs private contact
Player profiles are public recruiting pages. They may include name, photo, position, class year, school, club, rankings, offers, and commitment — drawn from public sources such as rosters, box scores, press coverage, and public social posts.
We do not put private contact details (home address, phone, personal email, grades, medical info, or government IDs) on player profiles. If you see something that should not be public, use the removal path below right away.
User accounts (email, password, optional phone, preferences) are private to the signed-in person. Account data is separate from the public player profile stream. Details live in our Privacy Policy.
How to request removal
Athletes, parents, and guardians can request that a player profile be removed. Fastest path is the tracked form:
- /remove-profile — submit a new tracked request (confirmation + reference number).
- /profile-removal — look up status on a request you already submitted.
We typically verify the relationship to the athlete and act on verified guardian requests within about 7 business days. Full policy language is under Privacy → Profile Removal.
